Rental
policies
Booking
- It is advised to book
early. Camp space fills up quickly.
- All rental requests will be booked on
a first come first served policy.
- You must fill out a
rental application and send it to the Lumsden Beach Camp Business address
(see Home Page) Please attention your application to: Camp Rentals.
Deposit
- Applications for all
overnight rentals must include a $150 damage and cancellation deposit. Please
note, your deposit ensures your spot will be retained for your visit. Final
confirmation is only granted upon receipt of deposit
- The camps maintenance
person or the Boards rentals person will do a walkthrough before and after
your rental to review the conditions and cleanliness of the facilities
- The deposit is refundable
up to 30 days prior to rental date.
- The camp holds the $150.00
damage/cancellation deposit, for two weeks after rental, during which time
any additional assessments for cleanup or damages will be reviewed.
The damage deposit (in full or in part) will then then be refunded.
A $20.00 per hour cleaning or repair fee will be assessed for any clean-up left unfinished
or necessary repairs.
Cancellation
- 30 days notice of cancellation
will ensure a full refund of the $150 damage / cancellation deposit.
- With 29 days or less
notice of cancellation, no immediate refund will be issued. If the camp is booked by
another group on those dates after you cancel, you will receive a $150 refund less
$30.00 retained for administrative costs.
- Cancellation of day camps
due to weather will be up to the Directors discretion. A full refund will
be given in this case.
Insurance
- A copy of your
certificate of insurance proving that you have adequate legal liability and
comprehensive general liability coverage must also accompany your rental
application
Damages
- Rental groups are responsible
for any damages incurred to the facility, property or equipment as a result
of improper use, negligence or carelessness. Writing on cabins walls, bunks
and mattresses is strictly prohibited. A $20 / hour fee will be assessed for
any minor repairs. If you notice anything on site that
requires attention or may be a danger to your group, please inform the rentals
or facility personnel immediately.
Smoking
- Due to the safety (fire)
and health hazards of second hand smoke, participants are not to smoke on
camp property.
Alcohol
- Due to the nature of
our facility, with concern for safe and positive experience for all, we have
a NO ALCOHOL policy.
Firearms
- No firearms of any kind
are to be brought on to camp property. This includes air guns.
Safety
- Please refer to our emergency
procedures. For overnight groups, it is the responsibility of the rental
group to make sure all participants and leaders are familiar with these procedures.
If you require any explanation please ask the rentals or facility personnel.
Water
/ Sanitation
- The camp operates on
a private well and self-contained septic system. We ask participants to try
and conserve water use as much as possible.
- When not in use, doors
to the Dining Hall, cabins and all other buildings must be kept closed
- Pets and other animals
are not allowed in any of the buildings.
Telephone
- There is one telephone
located on site, in the kitchen area, which rental groups are welcome to use
for important or emergency calls. The camp phone number is 729-2586.
Regina is not long distance but Lumsden and Regina Beach are. All long
distance calls must be placed collect or on a Calling Card. Please limit
your time on the phone, as it is a business phone.
Site
Preservation
- Our camp sees many visitors
each year. Our goal is to maintain the camp property in as close to a natural
state as possible for the enjoyment and education of all campers. Please refrain
from harming anything that is alive (flora and fauna). Please use hotdog sticks
provided; do not cut your own!
- Contain your fires to
the designated fire pits. Ample outdoor fire pits are provided. NO OTHER FIRE
PITS ARE TO BE DUG. Extinguish all fires completely before retiring or when
unattended. Any fire damage due to negligence will be charged to renter. We
do supply firewood, however we ask that you do your best to conserve its use.
- Keep all vehicles in
designated areas only. All-terrain vehicles (ATVs, skidoos…) are not permitted
on camp property.
Laundry
- On site laundry facilities
are not available for rental groups. However there is a Laundromat located
at Regina Beach in the Esso service station (10 min. away)
Parking
- All vehicles are to be
parked along lower road. Please do not park along upper road or beside buildings.
Cabin
Arrangements
- All camper cabins must
have an adult supervisor. There is a separate room in each of the camper cabins
for the supervisor.
Meals
- Day Camp renters choosing
to have lunches included in their program fees will be provided with a wiener
roast on the first day.
- If a group is spending
multiple days at camp other lunches will be made available. The program staff
will be in touch with you to provide choices.
- Note: Lumsden Beach Camp
is only responsible for providing lunches to Day Camp users, other meals and
snacks must be provided and prepared by the user group. Facility rentals must
supply/prepare all their own meals
- If any leaders or participants
have any special dietary needs please let us know at least two weeks in advance
so we can make arrangements to accommodate them.
- Day Camp groups wishing to supply
extra snacks or drinks in addition to what we serve are welcome to do so.
Camp
Clean-up
- In order to keep the
cost of our facility for rentals reasonable, we request your group's co-operation
in keeping the camp clean. Overnight rental groups are expected to follow
the cleaning procedures outlined in the clean-up checklist.
- A $20 per hour cleaning
charge will be assessed for any clean up left unfinished
- The camp will supply
all cleaning and paper products for your use (paper towels, toilet tissue,
soap and garbage bags)
