Camp Leadership

Our camp is lead by a group of qualified, dedicated, responsible, well trained and enthusiastic students, young adults and adults in paid and volunteer positions. We choose our leadership team very carefully to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our campers. Camp staff are chosen for their leadership skills, ability to care for children, and experience in camp activities. The Leadership at camp is one of the reasons Lumsden Beach Camp is such a special place, where lifelong friendships and memories are made. The camp leaders are ready to offer themselves as Christian role models whom your child will love and respect. Many of our leaders return year after year and are well known by our campers and their parents.

Staff Training

Staff training includes an annual training week event and day sessions during the spring in which our staff become a team prepared and enthused about the summer ahead. Topics covered in the staff training include; child care, behaviour strategies, emergency procedures, first aid, Christian education, child abuse and disclosures, roles of all camp staff, as well as extensive training in regular camp activities. The counsellors and staff are given opportunities to grow, share their talents, and gain confidence.
